Seemingly random thoughts about Autodesk Revit, BIM, & digital content creation. Also considers how they are changing the practice of Architecture as we know it.

Revit Structure 1.0 Released Today!

The long awaited revit based structural design tool, Autodesk Revit Structure 1.0, is set to ship today. It seems that information on crossgrade promotions and pricing details have not yet been released. I will pass that info on as I receive it. Always on the ball, Augi has already added an entirely new forum category dedicated to the new product. Autodesk was also quick to add new discussion group, autodesk.revitstructure, has been added to

Wes Macaulay, of Pacific Alliance Technologies, has started an informative thread with FAQ’s for ARS.

More news to follow...... this time I promise ;)

You gotta put an RSS feed on this thing and get Onfolio! Woo-hoo! I'm hooked on that setup now. You can sync the RSS feeds of you favorite blogs right in Onfolio 2.0, just like a news reader.

Catchya later,

I am Subir, and I represent NIIT - one of the world's largest e-learning companies with presence in more than 40 countries. (To know more about us, please visit our Web site,

We are looking for subject matter experts to help us in developing and reviewing training courses on Revit Structure, Building and Systems.

The project will have a total of 50+ lessons. We estimate that the effort involved with be approximately 12 to 16 hours for developing each lesson. The experts will be working in collaboration with a team of NIIT instructional designers. Each lesson will have a total of approximately 18 pages - each divided into 2 equal sections: - 1. Content 2. Exercise.

Our requirement from the subject matter expert will be:

1) Create the Content Outline for the lessons. ( The lesson names and rationale for each lesson will be provided by NIIT)

2) Provide the content dump for the lesson. Content dump will include information from various sources that will help a NIIT author to write the lesson.

3) Create dataset, grabs, exercise, and provide samples/examples/details (if any).

4) Create the Exercise for the lesson. This exercise will be refined by a NIIT author as per Instructional design.

5) Answer questions from the NIIT authoring team.

6) Review the complete lesson for technical accuracy, completeness and relevance.

Please let me know if you are interested in such a project. Looking forward to hear from you.
